Subjective:

The patient is a 50 y.o.male who presented to our office complaining of a growth on his tongue that had been present for 3 years. He reported a habit of biting on the tip of his tongue.

Objective:

Medical history revealed the patient to be a 1 pack per day smoker. Oral examination revealed the patient to have an edentulous maxilla, mobile tooth # 20, mandibular alveolar bone loss, gingival recession, and a exophytic ovoid mass 8 mm x 6 mm on the tip of the tongue.

Assessment:

  1. Tongue Focal Fibrous Hyperplasia, Hyperparakeratosis and Hyperorthokeratosis
  2. Periodontitis
