Case of the Month

Subjective:

The patient is a 28 y.o. male that presented to our office complaining of his maxillary removable partial denture. He was not interested in a fixed partial denture and he was not interested in orthodontic treatment to close his maxillary diastema. The patient desired a dental implant.

Objective:

The patient had an allergy to Penicillin.There were no serious illnesses. Oral examination revealed missing tooth # 8. The patient injured tooth # 8 secondary to a fall when 10 years of age. He had root canal therapy for tooth # 8, which had to be extracted when he was 24 years old. Multiple maxillary diastema were noted in the anterior maxilla.
