Case of the Month


February, 1999


Subjective:

The patient is a 76 y.o. male, seen for 8 year post treatment examination, following posterior mandibular dental implant reconstruction.

Objective:

Medical history revealed a PCN allergy. Operations included a cholecystectomy and angioplasty. Medications consisted of ecotrin and hydrochlorothiazide. Oral examination revealed missing teeth #'s 1,2,16,17,18,19,30, and 32. Root canal therapy was noted on teeth #'s 15, 21, 28, and 29. PFM crowns had been fabricated for teeth #'s 13, 14, and 15. Four unit fixed partial dentures were used in the right and left mandibular regions, with an endosseous IMZ implant as an abutment on the left.

  1. Oligodontia
  2. Periodontitis
  3. Status Post Endosseous Implant
